Andrew is a consultant to Thackray Williams. He specialises in non-contentious construction law.

He brings to his construction practice a thorough understanding of property development from site acquisition to construction and onward sale, having worked for much of his career as a property development lawyer as well as advising on construction procurement and contracts.

Andrew has acted for a full range of clients, including commercial property developers, owners of property portfolios, private house builders and housing associations, land- owning charities, contractors, sub-contractors and professionals.

He has advised on the construction of a large central London hotel, the refurbishment of the Aldwych Quarter (including Bush House), the construction of school, college and university buildings including student accommodation, the renovation of church property and development of church land, bespoke contracts for the construction of dwellings by a house builder for the private rental sector and cladding remediation contracts. He has also worked on major (and smaller) sub-contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, third party rights, standard terms and conditions, contractor’s bonds, pre-letting agreements and other construction and funding documentation.

Andrew has written articles and presented seminars on a range of construction and property matters, including cladding remediation, choosing standard form contracts and whether to amend them, and understanding the construction process.

Andrew has spent much of his career at well-known London and Kent firms and also in the north of England. He enjoys history, watching cricket, walking and learning about wine and drinking it with family and friends.
